Hotel GAL - the ideal place for a vacation in Tarnów

The historic character of Hotel GAL

Hotel GAL, located at 5 Dworcowa Street, is a renovated facility situated in the building of the former Hotel Polski, which was the pride of Tarnów. This hotel was built in 1904 and is a structure erected in the Art Nouveau style at the request of Michał Mikosi, a well-known Tarnów entrepreneur. The entire area of Hotel Gal, along with the hotel itself, can boast historic architecture. This is precisely why the hotel and the station complex of the entire Dworcowa Street have been listed in the Register of Historic Monuments since December 1, 1975, under number A-80.

The facade of Dworcowa Street has been renovated, restoring its former glory. In front of the entrance to the lobby/reception area and on the steps of the staircase, there are fragmentarily preserved floor tiles from 1904, which have been reconstructed and restored.

Just behind the main entrance door to the hotel from Dworcowa Street, a plaque with the inscription „Tarnów Mikoś” has been built into the wall, commemorating the investor and builder of the tenement house, Michał Mikosi. On the first floor, wall decorations in the form of supraports have been restored, whose embellishments refer to the history of the building and give the first-floor corridor an unusual atmosphere.
